Facility Executive is a specialized trade publication for corporate facility executives and facilities management professionals in all commercial, industry, and service sectors. The media firm is hosting its inaugural Facility Executive Live! one-day conference in Chicago on October 3, 2017. With a focus on regional issues, the event will include six conference sessions, meals, and networking with peers and sponsors.
Susan Coene, Facility Executive Chief Business Officer, says, “We’re very excited to bring the inaugural Facility Executive Live! to Chicago this October. Having served the facility management industry for 30 years, we know how critical it is for facility professionals to understand the latest trends and develop the strategies that can help them operate their facilities at peak performance. We’re confident that this new one-day conference will provide real-world solutions that our attendees can implement in their facilities."
Jim Lord, Managing Director with Helbling & Associates, will be participating in the event's Next Gen FM panel discussion, which will focus on how facility leaders can prepare today for the expected critical shortage of qualified new talent to fill the shoes of industry veterans. Lord is looking forward to sharing and discussing insight with peers and says, "Since I began recruiting executives 19 years ago, facilities management has changed tremendously. It has become "high-tech" from utilizing BIM for capital projects and planning to implementing energy management and building control systems. Beyond technological advancements, most organizations that have a large portfolio of facilities assets have extensive and complex sustainability and climate action plans. Educating students and young professionals on these little thought of aspects of facilities could capture their enthusiasm for progress and a higher purpose."
Other panel discussions and sessions during the conference will be:
(All sessions during the event have been approved for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points toward renewal of professional designations offered by BOMI International.)
"Recognizing the varied and evolving responsibilities of facility management professionals in all sectors, the Facility Executive Live! conference program covers a range of topics for attendees," says Anne Cosgrove, Editor-in-Chief of Facility Executive magazine. "We've built a solid educational lineup, coupled with the opportunity for networking with peers and vendors that promises to make the most of a day out of the office."
