Helbling has been retained by a large architectural / engineering firm to conduct an executive search for a Senior Associate, Architectural Project Manager with healthcare and/or education experience to be part of the firm’s executive leadership team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Reporting to the Principal of the Philadelphia Office, the Senior Associate is responsible for securing new business along with overseeing project delivery.  The Philadelphia Office is expected to grow significantly, with a focus on the healthcare and higher education sectors. This Senior Associate will have a direct impact on the business’ short- and long-term growth as well as his/her own career progression. As the primary point of contact, the successful individual shall be responsible for coordination of projects, overseeing the design and technical efforts of team members, and the integration of all design disciplines on projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifies and secures new business development projects and obtains repeat business.
  • Engages executive leadership on company-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Recognizes opportunities to incorporate additional business lines to exceed client satisfaction.
  • Establishes, implements, and monitors a work plan for each project.
  • Leads client and team meetings throughout the project.
  • Oversees the preparation and execution of agreements consistent with client needs, firm's technical ability, and firm's project schedule.
  • Coordinates projects with outside consultants and direct the firm’s project team.
  • Submits to and reviews with client matters pertaining to budget and scope of the work.
  • Executes and oversees financial management of projects.
  • Ensures quality control of all project documentation and communications.
  • Professional degree in the field of Architecture.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in project management of architectural projects.
  • Ability to identify and secure business development pursuits.
  • Licensed architect.
  • Background in either healthcare, education, and/or laboratory projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Experience in personnel supervision with strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Competent knowledge of building materials, specifications, and construction techniques.
  • Experience in dealing with codes and ordinances.
  • Sufficient knowledge of engineering disciplines to coordinate work.
  • Knowledge of construction processes sufficient to coordinate project with contractor.
  • Working knowledge of Revit.
